On-line Submission of Illinois
State Academy of Science Student Research Grants
The Illinois State Academy of Science (ISAS) holds an annual grant competition for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. These funds support the research activities of the applicant and are paid to individual students only. A total of $3,000 is available annually
The following expenditures are excluded: salary, standard equipment, tuition, travel to meetings, manuscript preparation, publication costs, or payment of indirect costs(a.ka.
Facilities and Administration). Grants are made for up to $100 for high school
students, $250 for undergraduates, and $500 for graduate students.
The following guidelines pertain and are reviewed each year:
- Both student applying and mentor must be members of the Academy. If you are not a member, go to the Membership page, download the form and mail your check to the address provided. A temporary membership may be requested from Executive Secretary Robyn Myers, either by email or phone. You will be provided with a username and password to gain entry to the abstract submission module. When requesting a temporary membership, please provide your name, mailing address, phone number and email. Please allow 2 business days to receive your username and password.
- A hardcopy letter of support from the student's advisor must be sent to the Executive Secretary by the deadline or shortly thereafter.
- Each application is treated individually. A previously supported project will be treated as a new application.
- Grants are awarded to Illinois students only.
- Requests for a third year of support will not be considered.
- To avoid a disqualification of your application, the instructions on this form must be followed completely.
- Application must be submitted on-line by 11:59 pm central time on 9 December. Applicants will be notified by March 1, 2010 of the award status
